By-line

A by-line comes right after the title of your story, report or project. In our paper, it includes your first name, last initial and your grade. It should look like this:

Feature

A feature story gives factual information about an interesting topic that is not news. It can be about science, art, hobbies, interesting people or places, etc. It is mostly writing, with some illustrations. Here are some examples of feature stories:

Fiction

Fiction is writing or stories that aren't true. Most fiction is written to entertain. You can learn more about writing fiction. These pages include some examples of fiction stories:

Light Table

A light table is a flat box with a light inside. You can use it for tracing pictures to make new illustrations

Text Box

In many applications, including iWork Pages, you can add a text box instead of typing directly on the page. You can move the text box around and resize it, which makes it useful for layout, for things like newsletters and other documents that combine graphics and text. See our layout tips for more.
